WICHITA, Kan. —The Newman Men's soccer team fell to No. 3 Midwestern State Thursday 2-0. Newman was looking to finish strong and Newman stayed with Midwestern State in both halves limiting its shots on goal. Newman was looking to finish up the season at home on a high note with it being the final game for the seniors as well.
KEY SEQUENCE
The Jets (4-9-4, 2-8-3 Heartland) were going into the second half looking to limit the transition of the Mustangs (15-0-2, 11-0-2 Heartland), but when Ross Fitzpatrick caught a pass from Alex Dimitriu in the box and was able to net it and give the team a 2-0 lead and would seal the victory for the Mustangs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The game was looking good in the first half both teams were playing physical, but in the 11th minute Pierre Bocquet received a pass across the field and took it down the field into the box and was able to find the middle of the net.
-In the second half the Jets were looking to keep the mustangs at bay and keep them from getting to the net, but in the 76th minute Alex Dimitriu found Ross Fitzpatrick after a shot and rebound for the goal and the 2-0 lead, this would seal the game for the Mustangs.
NOTES
-The Jets will be ending the season at Rogers State which will finish up its season and will look to end the season with some momentum.
-Midwestern State held the advantage in shots 13-4, while goalie Chase Bowman did have four saves on the night.

The Jets will finish up on the road Saturday Oct. 28 when they will travel to Claremore, Oklahoma to take on Rogers State.
