ALVA, Okla. — Matching its Division II-era single-game scoring record, the Newman women's soccer team closed out nonconference play with an 8-1 victory over Northwestern Oklahoma State Tuesday evening.
KEY SEQUENCE
The Jets (3-2-0) burst out of the gates with two early goals, but the Rangers (0-4-1) made it seem like it may be a shootout both ways with a goal of their own in the 22nd minute. Instead, Rosa Urista-Chico netted Newman's third goal 35 seconds later, and Grace Linton added another in the 29th to send the Jets on their way to a big win.

-The Jets closed nonconference play with a 3-1 mark in four matches, falling 1-0 in their only loss and outscoring opponents 15-5.
