AUSTIN, Texas— The Newman women's soccer team lost a well-played game Saturday 2-0 against a quality opponent in No. 6 St. Edward's. 
KEY SEQUENCE 
The Hilltoppers (6-0-2, 4-0-1 Heartland) were able to keep the Jets (5-3-1, 2-2-1 Heartland) grounded and were keeping them off their side of the field for majority of the game. The Jets were still within one good shot of tying the game up until the 63rd minute where the Hilltoppers were able to get back on the board with their second goal of the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Hilltoppers got on the board first when Ashley Valsin-Luu received a corner kick from Stephanie Evans for the header and goal. 
-The second goal came in the 63rd minute when Stephanie Evans received a pass from Whytneigh Duffie for the goal and putting the Hilltoppers up 2-0. 
-Newman defense stepped up after that point, holding St. Edward's to one shot for the rest of the game but Newman could not manage any of its own. 
NOTES 
-The Jets were only able to get across four shots with 12 total between both teams.
-Despite the loss Newman has still only allowing five goals in their last six games.

The Jets return home for another conference matchup against Lubbock Christian.
