WICHITA, Kan. —The Newman women's soccer team won a well-played game at home Thursday against Lubbock Christian, as the Jets returned home with a defense that was playing physical and not allowing LCU to get many shots off in a 1-0 win.
KEY SEQUENCE
The Jets (6-3-1, 3-2-1 Heartland) had a slow start in the first half getting the opportunities to score and get ahead, but the shots weren't falling. Once the second half started the Jets were off and running the Chaparrals (5-4-1, 2-3-1 Heartland) were limiting the Jets with its defense until the 67th minute, when Rosa Urista-Chico put the Jets ahead.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Lexi Clark was able to find Urista-Chico after spotting a lapse in the defense, giving Urista-Chico a good long pass and setting up the goal.
