AUSTIN, Texas. – The Newman University women's soccer team saw their season come to an end in a hard fought 3-1 defeat to Dallas Baptist University, Thursday afternoon in the Semifinals of the Heartland Conference Tournament.

The Jets got off to a sluggish start as DBU converted early on a corner kick in the 2nd minute taking a 1-0 lead. Wichita, KS native Colleen Howland gave the Jets a great opportunity to tie the match in the 8th minute as she laced a shot that was saved by DBU's keeper. The Jets fell behind 2-0 after a penalty kick was awarded to the Patriots in the 16th minute.

The Jets headed into the halftime break trailing 2-0, while only being outshot 8-7.
