KEARNEY, Neb. — The Newman women's volleyball team travel to Kearney, Nebraska as they participated in the Rosella Meier UNK Fall Classic Friday and Saturday. The Jets took on Minot State in an early morning matchup falling in three sets 25-13, 25-16, and 25-11. In game two the Jets used straight sets to defeat Midwestern State 25-16, 25-20, and 25-12.
Game One
Key Sequence
The Jets (1-2) were able to use a strong second set to get within five of the Beavers (3-2), with help from Jada Key Trinity Conley and Reagan Roth. The Beavers would go on a run of their own in the latter part of the set getting the set victory and later the game victory.
How It Happened
-The Jets were able to keep pace with the Beavers in the first two sets going back and forth also with the help of some key kills by Trinity Conley as well as Hailey Braddy. The Jets would be down as low as five but two late runs by the Beavers would have the Jets down two sets to none going into the third set.
-In the third set, the Jets would start strong keeping pace with the Beavers going into the middle of the set, with kills by Trinity Conley, Jada Key, as well as getting help from Reagan Roth and Mackenzie Andersen the Jets found themselves down by six but would fall to the Beavers in the third set.
Game Two
Key Sequence
The Jets (1-2) used a big surge in the third set against the Mustangs (2-3), Newman was clicking on all cylinders and able to a big lead going latter part of the match leading to the three-set victory and the match victory.
How It Happened
-In the first two sets, the Jets went on the attack taking the lead early with the help of their defense, Yemima Buana, Cassie Pauls, and Trinity Conley were able to help Newman with their kills, assists, and defense giving the Jets the two set lead.
-In set number three, the Jets took the early lead and were able to keep it. Mackenzie Anderson was setting up her teammates early and often. Reagan Roth was also able to set her teammates up for some strong kills and add on to the Jet lead and later the set and match victory.
Notes
-Trinity Conley led the Jets in kills on the day with 15, along with an ace, and two blocks.
-Mackenzie Anderson led the way in digs on the day with 21 along with two assists to help the Jets game two victory.

The Jets finish up their tournament schedule Saturday, September 1 with matches at 2/6 P.M.
