WICHITA, KAN – The No. 22 ranked Newman wrestling team suffered their first loss of the season Wednesday evening (Jan. 16) to the No. 18 ranked Central Oklahoma Bronchos, 26-9. The Jets fall to 2-1 on the season, and dropped to 1-1 in MIAA competition, while the Bronchos improved to 7-2 overall and 2-0 in the MIAA.
After trailing by as many as 7-3, the Jets quickly fired back with a 6-0 run, winning back to back decisions by freshman, Kameron Frame (149-pounds) and No. 2 ranked Tyler Mies (157-pounds) giving the Jets their lone lead of the evening, 9-7. The Bronchos rallied back with three straight victories using an 19-0 run to propel them to victory over the Jets.

165 – Wyatt Jordan (UCO) defeats Noah Perkins (NU) in a 10-5 decision. The Bronchos lead 10-9.
174 – Devin Crawl (UCO) defeats Nate Panagakis (NU) in a 7-5 decision. The Bronchos lead 13-9.
184 – Heath Gray (UCO) defeats Ivan Balavage (NU) by major decision 17-6. UCO leads 17-9.
197 – Colton Looper(UCO) Defeats Jake Stoneberger by major decision 13-3. UCO leads 21-9.
