TOPEKA, Kan. – On Friday night the Jets traveled to take on the Washburn Ichabods. The game started off with two quick goals one for each team. In a close game throughout, the match would finish in a 2-2 tie.

The Jets (6-3-4, 2-2-2) were able to score the first goal of the match when
Katie Hartman would beat the goalie to the lower left corner of the goal to give the Jets a 1-0 in the 4th minute. In the 75th minute,
Jordan Ashworth would shoot one past the goalie in the upper right corner for the Jets second goal.

How it Happened
The Jets would take 16(14) shots compared to Washburn's 12(7) shots. The scoring started early when
Katie Hartman gave the Jets an early 1-0 lead in the 4th minute of play. In the 7th minute, Josie Rimmer of Washburn would beat Newman goalkeeper
Jackie Lari in the lower right of the goal to tie up the match at 1-1. It took some time before the scoring would pick back up when in the 75th minute
Jordan Ashworth would beat the defense and the Washburn goalie to give the Jets a 2-1 lead. Unfortunately for the Jets, in the 85th minute, Paige Ledesma of Washburn would score the games final goal tying the game back up at 2-2. This would result in a tie after neither team could create a scoring play in either overtime period.
