CLAREMORE, Okla. – The Newman Men's soccer team traveled to Claremore, Oklahoma to take on Rogers State. The Jets were behind for most of the match. They gave up two goals early in the first half.
Ed Jabbari would add a PK goal halfway through the first half but that would be all Newman would be able to get this afternoon.

How it Happened
Both teams were played pretty evenly with the Jets having 11(4) shots compared to Rogers State who also had 11(5) shots but 5 shots. The difference today was that the Hillcats were able to score their shots on goal and Newman wasn't. In the 7th minute of action, Jaxon Pitt beat Consol to get the scoring started. In the 9th minute of play Noah Robson scored another goal for Rogers State to give them a 2-0 advantage early. Newman would cut the deficit in half after a foul by Jaime Ponce would give the Jets a penalty kick.
Ed Jabbari would beat RUS's Dillon Dean to make it 2-1. In the second half Rogers State would put the pressure back on the Jets as Jake Simpson scored in the 48th minute. The final goal of the game for Rogers State came in the 76th minute when Jake Simpson scored again to make the lead 4-1 Rogers State.
