WICHITA, Kan. – On Saturday afternoon, the Newman men's soccer team hosted Harding University in a Great American Conference matchup. The Jets were in for a battle from the get go, after giving up an early goal just five minutes in. Newman would give up two goals in the first half. In the 51st minute,

Ed Jabbari but that would be all Newman would be able to get this afternoon.

How it Happened
Both teams played pretty evenly with the Jets having 13(5) shots compared to Harding 9(5). Unfortunately for the Jets, Harding was able to execute their 5 shots on goal with 3 goals. In the 5th minute of action, Christian Ramos was able to beat
Chase Bowman to get the scoring started. With a defensive battle for most of the first half, it wasn't until the 29th minute when another goal was scored by Jeremy Nwonumah of Harding. In the second half, the Jets would fight back as
Rafael Alkmim beat Carlos Calderon to cut the deficit to 2-1 Harding in the 51st minute of action. The crushing blow to the match for the Jets was in the 79th minute when Christian Ramos scored again to make the lead 3-1 Harding.
