TAHLEQUAH, Okla. - On Sunday afternoon, the Jets traveled to Oklahoma to take on Northeastern State for their final regular season matchup of the season. Both of these teams secured playoff births today. With Newman being in 7th place and NSU sitting in 2nd place, that means that these two teams will face off again next Friday, November 8 in the first round of the MIAA Conference Tournament.

Jets goalkeeper Jackie Lari was able to save a shot from a Riverhawk player. However, the she couldn't secure the ball and Paulina Chavez was able to put the rebound in the back of the net to score what would be the game winning goal.

How It Happened

Paulina Chavez was able to score off of a rebound after teammate Meagan Chase took a shot at Newman's Jacki Lari. Lari was able to save the original shot, unfortunately the ball went to Chavez and She was able to score the ball. Northeastern State was able to extend their lead in the second half when Mariah Nicolet was able to beat Lari for the second goal of the day.

The Jets will be back in action Friday, November 8th as they travel back to Tahlequah to take on the Riverhawks for the first round of the MIAA Conference Tournament, kick-off will be at 6 P.M.
