WICHITA, Kan. – On Saturday afternoon, the Jets played host to another top 15 school in #9 Central Missouri inside Fugate Gymnasium. In the final home regular season match, Central Missouri swept Newman 3-0.
In the first set, the Jets were able to go back and forth against a really good team in Central Missouri. With the Jets trailing 17-15, Central Missouri was able to put away the Jets going on an 8-2 run to end the first set including a 5-0 run. Central Missouri would win the first set by a score of 25-17 and lead the match 1-0.
In the second set, neither team would be able to gain an advantage. It wasn't until the score was 19-16 in favor of Central Missouri where the Jennies were able to make a 6-3 run to win the second set by a score of 25-19 and lead the match 2-0.
In the third and final set, the Jets were looking to avoid the sweep on consecutive nights. The Jets would make it a close set but ultimately fall short. With the Jets trailing 23-15, they would score the next two points to make it 23-17, but Central Missouri would score the final two points of the match and win the set and the match 25-17, and 3-0.
