WICHITA, Kan. — After scoring five runs in the top of the third inning the Newman baseball team was able to grab the nonconference win over William Jewell Tuesday afternoon. The Jets' offense was able to come through in some big situations over the Cardinals.
In the top of the third after the Cardinals took an early 2-0 lead, the Jets came up looking for a big inning and that's exactly what they got. Jace Piepkorn came up next and hit a big triple to right center scoring Bajza and Nagle. Later in the third, Paul Rupnik reached on an error scoring two more Jets and the lead was 5-2.
