WICHITA, Kan. — After a tough road trip the Newman Baseball team returned home to complete the season sweep of Pittsburg State winning a close game 5-2.

The Jets got on the board early, Koby Millner got the team started with a single up the middle and a stolen base, bringing up Paul Rupnik who gave the Jets a productive out advancing Millner to third who would later score on a Mitchell Austin double to left center field. Later in the second, the Jets got on the board again Millner was on the RBI side of things this inning as he singled to left center scoring Turner lace who singled up the middle and Conner Langrell who reached on a fielder's choice, the Jet lead was now 3-1.

After the Gorillas cut the lead to two in the fourth, the Jets were looking to make something happen in the late stages of the game, Millner got the Jets Started again with a single through the right side and stealing second and advancing to third on the throw. Rupnik would score Millner on a single through the left side giving the Jets a 5-2 lead. The Bullpen would close out the game for Newman with Zach Erdman getting the two inning save giving up two hits while striking out three batter as well.

Millner and Rupnik finished 3-for-4 on the day with a combined three RBIs.

The Jets are back on the road as they travel to Laredo, Texas for a matchup with Texas A&M International April 5-6, with first pitch of the double header coming at 1 PM.
