Newman Volleyball goes down in defeat in 5 set thriller vs Southern Arkansas

Hays, Kan. – The Jets started day 2 of the Tiger Classic at 11:00 A.M. against Southern Arkansas, losing 3-2. Newman looked good for most of the match but ultimately losing in the 5th set by the score of 19-17.

This match was back and forth from the start.  Newman looked good in the First set winning the set 25-21.  Southern Arkansas won the Second set 25-22. Newman came back and won the third set 25-20. Southern Arkansas won the fourth set 25-19. In the fifth set, it was close but Southern Arkansas finished off the Jets winning the set and the match by a final score of 19-17.
