KEARNEY, Neb. – Tonight's matchup against the Lopers of Nebraska-Kearney would be another test for the Jets. The Jets would struggle to string points together throughout the match having multiple times. where they couldn't side out.
In the first set, Newman was able to keep it close. Trailing 19-15, the Jets were overmatched and were unable to hold off the Lopers as they went on a 6-0 run to end the set.
The second set, the Jets would look better but end with the same result. Trailing by as many as 10 points, the Jets would string together four straight points on set point for the Lopers, but UNK would prove to be too much and took the set 25-17.
In the third and final set, the Jets were able to take the lead early, leading 5-3, the Jets would again struggled to keep the Lopers from scoring multiple points in a row. Newman would give up a 5 point run and a 6 point run to Nebraska-Kearney throughout the set. This would prove to be the crushing blow to the Jets, as they lose the set 25-16 and the game 3-0.
