WICHITA, Kan. - In coordination with the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association's decision to suspend all sports indefinitely, after 11:00 pm on March 12, all sports at Newman will be prohibited to practice or play games until further notice. 

The NCAA announced earlier this afternoon that they will be canceling all winter and spring championships. This means that Newman Wrestling's Tyler Lawley and Kameron Frame will return home from Sioux Falls, S.D. and not receive their shot at a national title. This announcement will also impact baseball, softball, men's and women's golf, men's and women's bowling, men's and women's triathlon and men's and women's tennis ability to compete in their varsity sport season. All of Newman's remaining teams will not be allowed to start or continue spring practices.
