WICHITA- Newman University Athletics has entered into a three-year agreement with FanWord, one of the leading AI technology and storytelling companies in college sports, to deploy FanWord Assist across its athletic programs. The partnership brings an AI-powered storytelling solution to the Jets as they continue to grow their presence within the MIAA and NCAA Division II.
FanWord Assist is a content creation platform built specifically for the pace and demands of college athletics communications. The software enables communications teams to produce high-quality written content — including game recaps, feature stories, nominations, and player bios — more efficiently, giving staff more time to focus on the narratives that connect fans, recruits, and alumni to their program.
"Newman University Athletics is excited to partner FanWord Assist for our written communications," said Associate Athletic Director
Zach Brake. "The partnership matches the rising demand of storytelling through various media forms. We are optimistic for what our communications personnel will achieve through the usage of this technology."
With this agreement, Newman becomes the latest addition to FanWord's network of more than 200 athletics organizations across all levels. The Jets are joined in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) by fellow FanWord partners Fort Hays State, Missouri Southern State, and Rogers State, reflecting the platform's growing presence throughout the conference and across NCAA Division II.
"Newman University has built a program with a lot of pride and a lot of stories worth telling," said Chris Aumueller, CEO of FanWord. "This three-year commitment reflects exactly the kind of long-term investment in storytelling that we love to support. We're excited to work alongside the Jets and help their communications team spotlight the student-athletes and moments that define Jets athletics."
In a college sports landscape where digital storytelling drives fan engagement, recruiting, and alumni connection, athletic communications teams face growing pressure to produce more content with the same or fewer resources. For Newman, a full MIAA member competing across 19 varsity sports in Wichita, FanWord Assist delivers a forward-thinking solution — one that helps the Jets work more efficiently, tell more stories, and build a stronger, more consistent brand.
