WICHITA- Newman Athletics announced
Kayln Helm as its Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Senior Woman Administrator. Helm brings more than four years of NCAA Division I compliance experience to the position, having served in compliance and student-athlete support roles at Wichita State University and Long Beach State University. Most recently, she has been the Associate Director of Full-Time MBA Programs at Southern Methodist University, where she oversees student success initiatives, orientation programming and academic advising.
In her new role, Helm will oversee the institution's NCAA compliance program, ensuring adherence to NCAA and conference legislation while providing education and support to coaches, staff and student-athletes. Helm will also serve as the Senior Woman Administrator.Â

Prior to joining SMU, Helm served as Athletics Compliance Coordinator at Wichita State, where she managed athletics financial aid administration for 16 NCAA Division I programs, assisted with initial eligibility for incoming student-athletes, educated coaches and staff on NCAA and conference legislation, and helped implement Teamworks Compliance software across the department. Helm also held the role of Athletics Academic Coordinator at Wichita State, providing academic advising, monitoring eligibility and assisting prospective student-athletes through the admissions process.Â
Before WSU, she worked as Athletics Compliance Assistant for Rules Education at Long Beach State, where she administered rules education and monitored recruiting and financial aid processes.Â

A native of Wichita, Kansas, Helm earned a Master of Education in Higher Education from Southern Methodist University in 2021 after completing a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Science at Kansas State University in 2019. She has also been actively involved with the National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC), Women Leaders in Sports and Wichita State's Name, Image and Likeness Committee.
Helm will begin her duties on August 17th.Â
