JrKANSAS CITY, Mo.- The MIAA announced its 2025-26 MIAA Newcomer Academic Awards. These awards include the Academic Excellence award recipients, Scholar-Athletes, and the Academic Honor Roll members for MIAA freshman and first-year transfers who competed in an NCAA Division II season during the 2025-26 academic year.  A total of 1,572 MIAA newcomers earned academic honors. 

The Academic Excellence Award was achieved by 145 MIAA newcomers. To be eligible for Academic Excellence, the recipient must have a grade point average of 4.00 with at least two terms of grades reported at the certifying member institution, not including summer terms. 13 Newman student-athletes earned this honor. These athletes are listed below.

To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, the student-athlete must have a GPA of at least a 3.00 with at least two terms completed at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms. 58 Jets earned a spot on the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.
