TOPEKA, KS - Newman traveled to Topeka to take on the number 1 ranked Washburn Ichabods.  The Jets had no answers for Washburn's attack ar the Ichabods validated their number 1 rank with a straight set victory.

Newman's losing streak now stands at 5.  After beating Missouri Southern State on September 17th to open conference play, the Jets have dropped 5 straight matches to MIAA foes.  The Jets record now sits at 5-7, 1-5 MIAA.

The Jets were outhit .343 to .030.  That percentage was a season low for the Jets offense, which has sputtered of late.  Newman hitters were blocked 7 times while transversely, the Jets only blocked two Washburn swings.

Jose Lugo's team struggled with attack errors all night.  Newman recorded 19 to just 22 kills, leading to their season low hitting percentage.  The Jets will look to stop their slide Saturday evening.  The match against Emporia State is slated for first serve at 6 PM in Emporia.
