KEARNEY, Neb. - Newman was swept at #16 UNK Saturday evening. The Jets took on the nationally ranked Lopers fro the second time this season and had the same result as earlier in the year.
Newman has dropped its second consecutive match after falling in four at FHSU. Newman drops to 8-12, 4-10 MIAA. The three sets were won by UNK 25-19, 25-9, and 25-20.
The Jets were outhit .387 to .151. Set two was a deciding set in the match as the Jets hit .000 while the Lopers crushed at a .424 clip.
The defense of the Jets was not firm as 6 service aces were allowed and only 32 digs were collected.
The Jets were led in kills by
Salome Romp and
Riley Daugherty with 8 a piece, but as a team the Jets had 14 errors.
Natalie Morales picked 14 digs and
Jenna DeVore had 17 assists.
