ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - Newman traveled to Missouri Western to battle the Griffons with a stronghold on the #8 spot on the line. The MIAA Tournament takes 8 teams into the postseason and the two squads were on the cusp of securing their place. The Griffons swept the Jets in three sets with a score of 25-16 in each set.
Newman was not packing their strongest punch tonight as the Jets swung .065 overall. The Griffons found their way around the Jets block all night long as MWSU swung .318 as a team.
Individually,
Jada Key swung .400 and
Natalie Morales had 12 digs.
Newman now sits at 9-15, 5-13 MIAA. With two games remaining the Jets find themselves on the outside looking in for postseason play.
