WICHITA, Kan. - The Newman lady Jets  competed in a mega match with University of Central Missouri on Wednesday afternoon. The mega match is a format used By the NCAA teams In their post season. It is a best 2 out of 3 format which includes a traditional team game, then 5 baker games total pins and if the two teams are tied after those 2 matches the match goes to a best 4 out of 7 game baker to determine a winner.

The lady Jets in the first game were pretty even with the Jennies thru 5 frames then behind sophomore Abigail Franklin who threw strikes in frames 6-9 then picked up the 2-10 split in the tenth frame to shoot 219 gave the Jets the first match win 933-837.     

The second match the Jets took a 96 pin lead by shooting 230 while ucm shot 134. the lady Jets would dominate the rest of the 2nd match and win 5 game set 852-781. 

It was a great team effort and we competed at a higher level then our last outing at the mid states Championship said Coach Murphy. Abigail Franklin led the team with a 93% clean frame percentage along with her 219 game!! 

The next outing for the Jets will be at the Lions Classic in St Charles, Mo on  February 26th and 27th.
