ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – On Saturday afternoon, the Newman Jets Men's Soccer team traveled to Arkadelphia to take on Ouachita Baptist for a Great American Conference matchup at Kluck Field.  The Jets would take the 1-0 lead at the half before Ouachita Baptist would outscore the Jets 2-0 in the second half including in the 84^th minute when David Stankovic would beat Jean Claude Consol in the back of the net to give Ouachita Baptist the 2-1 win over the Jets.

How It Happened

The Jets would outshoot the Tigers 14-7 in this match and 5-3 with shots on goal.  The scoring began in the 45^th minute, after a penalty by Ouachita Baptist, Ignacio Lerech would beat the Tigers goalkeeper to give the Jets the 1-0 lead at the half.  The Tigers responded right away in the second half with a goal by David Stankovic in the 46^th minute to tie the match 1-1. The Jets and Tigers would continue to battle it out and in the 85^th minute David Stankovic would beat Jean Claude Consol for his second goal of the match and that would be enough as the Tigers would takedown the Jets by a final score of 2-1.
