WICHITA, KS - Newman played their first conference game against Rogers State on Wilkins Field Friday night. The Jets found themselves on the wrong end of a 3-0 result. The Hillcats advance to 5-0-0 (1-0-0) while the Jets have started their season 0-3-0 (0-1-0).
Rogers State buried a goal at 6:21 in the first half off a free kick just outside the box. Set pieces led to struggles for the Jets as Andrea Egerer shot a long range free kick over the head of Newman goalkeeper
Jackie Lari. The Hillcats third goal came at 66:51, no more than 2 minutes after the Hillcats took a 2-0 lead.
The Hillcats speed frustrated the Jets who handled the ball 55% of the time. Newman's back line played solid, but were forced to commit multiple fouls against Hillcat players in order to prevent breaks. Newman tallied 14 fouls to RSU's 7.
Newman out shot Rogers State 9-6, but only got one to try the Hillcat goalkeeper. The Jets offensive effort cannot go unnoticed. they pushed at the Hillcats net for 90 entire minutes.

Ashley Talley led the Jets with two shots each. The Jets lone shot on goal came off of Talley's right foot.
The Jets will get a chance to convert on more pf their chances Sunday when they take on the Bronchos of Oklahoma Central Sunday at 2:30 PM following the Men's Soccer game vs. MSU Denver.
