EDMOND, OK - The Jets found themselves behind at the halfway mark tonight. They were unable to surmount the two goal deficit in the second half and fell by a final score of 5-0.
The Jets dropped both contests in Colorado by a goal each over the past weekend. They hoped this trip to Oklahoma Christian would be the moment they came out victorious. The Eagles of Oklahoma Christian had different plans in Edmond.
In the first half the Eagles beat Juan Carlos Cordova twice with goals just over 6 minutes apart in the first half. The Jets could not get the ball across the line with just two shots that were ultimately off the mark.
The second half was more of the same as the Jets were not able to get much going offensively. A second consecutive shutout for the Jets was not in the intention of Cliff Brown's team. Newman will look to right the ship through the rest of the non-conference schedule.
Cordova finished with 3 saves while Oklahoma Christian's Alexandre Picoto Rodrigues netted two of the Eagles five goals. August Joensson played all 90 minutes for the Jets, being the only Jet to do so.
Up Next: The Jets will open up their home campaign on Friday at 2 PM as they host the University of Missouri-St. Louis Tritons on Wilkins Field.
