WICHITA – Newman Baseball announced its 2023 schedule on Monday. Coming off a 23-23 campaign and a 13-20 mark in MIAA play, the Jets look to build off the momentum created in 2022. This year's slate includes an even 50 contests.

Opening day for the Jets will be at Southern Nazarene in Bethany, Oklahoma, just as the previous season began. After a three-game set, Newman will begin a home and home series with Northwestern Oklahoma State on February 7^th. The Rangers will pay a visit to Wichita nearly a month later March 8^th to complete the season series.

For the first time since the COVID -shortened 2020 season the Jets will participate in tournament / invitational as the Jets head to Arkadelphia for the HSU Invitational February 10^th through the 12^th.

The home opener is set for February 16^th as the Jets open a 4-game set with Minot State.

MIAA play opens with the final three games of an 8-game home stand against Rogers State February 24^th through the 26^th.

The Jets hit the road for series against Washburn, Central Missouri, Missouri Southern, Pittsburg State and Northeastern State this season. McCarthy Field will host the Rogers State series as well as the Missouri Western, Central Oklahoma, Northwest Missouri and Emporia State series for conference play. The Jets and Fort Hays State will continue their mid-week split series with road games on March 14^th and April 11^th and a home date splitting the two on March 28^th.

In all, the Jets will take McCarthy Field 25 times throughout the spring. The final home contest is scheduled against Emporia State on April 8^th. The season and push for an MIAA Tournament berth will play out on the road for the final 10 games.
