MULVANE, Kan. - Newman travelled south to the Kansas Star Casino to square off against Labette at the Battle of the Belts.  The Jets took the match by a score of 27-25.

The Jets went 5-2 in matches wrestled on Sunday afternoon.  Newman conceded 18 free points to the Cardinals with openings at 133, 184 and 285.  In matches wrestled Newman crushed the Cardinals 27-7.

Pins from Jace Fisher, Kameron Frame and Garrett Lange helped the Jets secure victory.   Lange's pin of Labette's 149 pounder, Cade Wathke came just 9 seconds into their match.  Newman was truly dominant in the middle weights.

Newman must be prepared for stiffer competition as the team heads to Kearney, Nebraska for an MIAA bout Monday night at 6 PM.
