KEARNEY, Neb. - Newman made its way north to face #3 Nebraska-Kearney Monday night.  The Lopers took every match contested and uncontested on their way to a 49-0 victory over the Jets.

Both squads came off matches the day before.  Newman beat Labette Sunday afternoon 27-25 while the UNK team was fresh off an 18-17 loss at the hands of #1 UCO.  the JEts met a very hungry UNK squad with some wrestlers frustrated from the previous day's results.

Newman surrendered 24 points due to open weight classes 133, 184, 197 and 285.  The hole was far too step to climb out of as the Jets fell at 125, 141, 149, 157, 165 and 174.

Jace Fisher and Garrett Lange's matches went down to the wire before each suffered decision losses by just two points.

Newman will head to UCO on Super Bowl Sunday, February 13 for a 2 PM start.  The Jets will look to get healthy so that they can put their best foot forward against the Bronchos.
