WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Newman made the trip to Central Missouri Wednesday evening as part of a swing of 8 games in 18 days. Newman fell to the Mules 86-49.
Newman falls to 4-16 1-14 MIAA) with the loss. UCM is now 11-10 (8-9 MIAA) after Wednesday night's make up contest.
The Jets shot 43.5% from the field, but were unable to contain the Mules as UCM shot 51.6% from the field while knocking down 10 3's.
Newman last led at 12:00 in the first half before UCM went on a 37-12 run over the final 12 minutes of the half to take a 50-27 lead into the half.
Turnovers doomed Newman as the Mules scored 32 points off of 22 turnovers.
Three Jets scored 7 points, while 3 more Jets scored 6. No player was really able to get a rhythm for the game.
DeAndre Johnson scored 7 points and added 5 rebounds to lead Newman on the glass.
Newman is back in action Saturday, February 12
th as the Jets take on UUCO at 3:30 PM inside Fugate Gymnasium.
