WICHITA, Kan. – Newman and Fort Hays State played a midweek contest on Tuesday in Wichita with the voice of the Jets, Blake Cripps on the call. If you like offense, this game was for you. The two teams tallied 37 combined hits and 25 combined runs.

The Jets drop to a 14-9 (4-6 MIAA) mark. FHSU halts a 5 game skid with the win Tuesday to advance to 3-19 (2-8 MIAA).
Offense was plentiful at McCarthy Field. Through 5 innings, the Jets clung to a 7-6 lead. In the sixth, FHSU scored 3 runs to take a 9-7 lead before Newman struck back with two RBI singles by
Carson Hawks and
Hayden VanDePol to tie it at nine heading into the 7
th.
The Tigers pounced on Jet miscues to take a 14-9 lead in the 7
th. Three of the 5 runs scored in the inning were unearned.
Each team added another run later, but the Jets were unable to overtake the FHSU lead.

Carson Hawks who went 5 for 6 with 2 doubles and 6 RBIs.
