KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Jets traveled to take on the GLVC's Rockhurst on St, Patrick's Day. Coach
Andrea Gustafson was on the quest for her 600
th career victory. The Jets picked up the win in game two helping Gustafson reach the career milestone.

Game 2 Final Newman 9 Rockhurst 7
Newman is now 7-13 after collecting their game two win. Rockhurst is now 8-10 with the series split.
Game 1:
The Rockhurst offense was seeing the ball well in game one. The Jets yielded 10 hits and a staggering 7 base on balls.
Newman posted nine hits with 4 RBI coming from the one, two and three hitters.
Lauren Kuhrt,
Lindsay Mayo and
Gianna Navarro also posted 4 hits in total. The top of the order was not enough for the Jets as the bottom 6 hitters posted just 5 hits all together with two coming from
Mackenzie Anderson.
The Jets also left 8 runners on base to Rockhurst's just three.
Game 2:
The Newman offense was on the aggressive in game two.
Samantha Gutierrez smacked two homeruns, including a grandslam that put the Jets ahead 6-1 in the top of the third to cap off a 5 run inning.
Rockhurst responded with a 5 spot of their own in the home half of the fourth.
In the top of the sixth,
Laurie Cooke singled home the eventual game winner with a two run single. The Jets added another when Cooke scored off a
Lindsay Mayo fielder's choice.
Rockhurst added one in the bottom half of the sixth, but it was not enough.
Janine Gutierrez finished the day with 3.1 innings pitch and just one earned run on her way to her third win on the season.
Coach
Andrea Gustafson amassed her 600
th career coaching win on Thursday night with the 9-7 win.
