EDMOND, Okla. – Newman and UCO squared off in game two of the series Saturday afternoon. Timely hitting sealed the deal for Newman as the Jets drew the series even at one a piece with a 5-2 victory.

The Jets get back to winning baseball and are now15-13 (5-10 MIAA). The UCO loss puts them at 16-11 (9-6 MIAA).
Nate Denniston took the ball for game 2 and the lefty was crafty from the jump. Denniston hurled 102 pitches over 7 innings on his way to his team leading fifth win of the season.
The Jets fell behind 1-0 after Garrett Takamatsu's single in the bottom of the third.
In the top of the fourth,
Carson Hawks came up to the plate with the bases loaded and hit a bases clearing double to put the Jets on top. Hawks was thrown out at third trying to advance on the throw.
The Bronchos brought the game within one when Wyatt Gray hit a solo shot. The Jets answered back when
Lincoln Choate got one of his own. The homerun was Choate's first since March 5
th and his fourth on the season.
Newman added one more to push the lead to 5-2 when
Hayden VanDePol drove in Zach Stewart in the top of the eighth.
The bullpen took over in the bottom of the eighth as
Ian Lecki entered. Lecki set up
Connor Langrell for the save opportunity. Langrell closed the door on the Bronchos with a groundball to third base from Takamatsu who came to the plate as the game tying run.
