WICHITA – Newman and Missouri Southern continued their series Friday at McCarthy Field. The Jets' offensive outburst from Thursday was matched with one of the Lions' own as MSSU tallied 16 hits en route to a 12-2 defeat of the Jets.

The Jets drop to 21-18 (11-15 MIAA) record following the game two setback. MSSU picks up a notch in the win column to move on to 25-16 (15-11 MIAA).

Nate Denniston could not settle in as the Lions jumped the lefty for three runs in the top of the first.
Jenner Steele singled home
Tyler Push to get one back and make the game 3-1, but the Lions kept roaring. The top of the second saw 8 batters come to the plate and 5 runs scored.
Denniston completed 5 innings pitched, but did not escape the Lion attack before two more runs were scored making the Jet deficit 9 as MSSU led 10-1.
In the bottom of the seventh,
Tyler Push got an RBI triple to cut the lead to 8, but the Jets would not get any closer.
Push finished the day with a double and a triple with one RBI and a run scored.
MSSU added a run in each of the final two frames to ultimately take down the Jets 12-2.
