MARYVILLE, Mo. – Newman and Northwest Missouri State continued their series Saturday afternoon. The Bearcats came out swinging to win the game 13-7.

Newman is now 17-15 (7-12 MIAA) following the back-to-back losses to open the weekend. Northwest Missouri State stays hot as they are winners in 5 of their last 6. The Bearcats are now 11-19 (7-12 MIAA).
The Jets took an early 1-0 lead with a
Zack Stewart RBI double scoring
Tyler Push.
The Bearcats scored 8 runs over the first two by the way of a 3-run homerun in the first and a grand slam in the second.
Hayden VanDePol hit a 2-run homerun in the top of third to close the game to 8-3. The Jets picked up another run when
Jenner Steele grounded out to third.
Jake Angelico scored on the play.
Northwest tacked on 5 more runs with two solo blasts and by taking advantage of some Jet miscues. The Jets tallied 5 errors in the field.
Heading into the ninth trailing 13-4, the Jets looked to muster up some scoring.
Billy Rice cut the lead to 8 with an RBI single. He was followed up later in the inning by
Tyler Push who triples home two runs to make it 13-7. Push was left stranded at third to end the inning as the Jets could not muster any more runs in the inning.
Push finished his day 3 for 5 with a triple and 2 RBI.
