RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – On Thursday, the Great American Conference announced the results of the 2022 GAC/MIAA men's soccer preseason coaches' poll. Fort Hays State, who finished second in the GAC/MIAA standings last season with an 8-3-1 Great American Conference record, received four of the six available first place votes to sit atop of the preseason ranking.
 
After finishing 1-10-1 last season, the Jets look to prove themselves this season. They return team leading goal scorer and 2021 D2CCA All-Central Region Men's Soccer Team forward Joao Moreira who finished third in the conference in goals scored with 7. His 14 points were also team best and 5 more than any other Jet.  
 
With only three seniors this season, the Jets will turn to younger players to contribute in a big way. Sophomore Felix Tellez Ramirez returns in 2022 after coming off an impressive freshman season where he was tied for second on the team in goals and finished second on the team in points with 9.
 
 The Jets 2022 regular season campaign starts August 25th against Oklahoma Christian. They'll wrap up the non-conference schedule at Colorado Christian on September 11th before beginning their conference campaign at GAC/MIAA preseason favorite Fort Hays State on September 17th.
