HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Newman Cross Country competed in the Terry Masterson Twilight Classic on Thursday Night. It was a night of record breaking as Newman Cross Country had multiple records broken.
On the Men's side,
Asher Brown's 4 mile record of 21:14 was broken by
Asher Brown himself who finished with a time of 21:01. However, that was also broken by
Kevin Chemalmal who finished the 4-mile race with a time of 20:51 and now holds the school record for the 4 mile race. The Men's Cross Country team placed 3rd overall out of 14 teams. They finished 15 points behind Fort Hays State who finished in 1st. This was an improvement from the previous year after the Jets finished in 5
th place a year ago.
On the Women's side, Wichita native and freshman
