KANSAS CITY, Mo. –Newman Men's Soccer traveled to Kansas City on Sunday to face a Rockhurst team that was also looking for their first of the season. The Jets went back and forth with the Hawks as both teams searched for their first goal of the game, but it was the Hawks who were able to find the net as they scored 2 goals with under 5 minutes left.

Both first half Rockhurst goals came within 1 minute of each other, with the first of the two being scored in the 41st minute of play by Elluan Gomes Martins, followed by another goal from Nick Grewe.

The Jets had a rough start to the second half, with Rockhurst again scoring, this time with a goal from Tomasso Tirabassi in the 49th minute. Both teams remained scoreless for the rest of the game. Juan Carlos Cordova finished the match with 9 saves.

Newman (0-3) will be looking to get their first win on Wednesday as they return home for a match against Quincy (1-1-2), in a game slated for 2pm.
