COLUMBIA, MO. - Men's and Women's cross country competed in the MIAA Championships on Friday, in an afternoon that saw major moments for both programs.

Patrcia Limo continued her strong season, finishing in ninth in the Women's 6k with a time of 22 minutes and 1 second. She becomes the first all conference runner for Newman since the Jets joined the MIAA.

Lucy Brown would also have a good showing, finishing in 50th, with the race featuring over 105 runners. Nayelly Rosales would finish just a minute off of Brown, finishing in 66th. Both would have personal best times in the race.

The women would finish 9th overall, which was their highest finish at the MiAA Championships since joining the conference.

Reagan Longei would once again be the top finisher for the men, finishing in 45th place in the men's 8k with a time of 26 minutes and 5 seconds. Asher Brown would be the Jets second best finisher in the race, placing in 58th.

Although the men would not have their best performance of the season, it was still a moment to remember as the Jets finished in the top 10 for the first time since joining the MIAA.

"We continue to set records at each meet we compete in," said Head Cross Country Coach Josh Schepis. "The men will have to work on some things to get ready for regionals. The women should be very proud of their finish, and did a very good job of rising to the occasion."

After a short break, both teams will head to the off to the NCAA Regional Championship on November 4th in Joplin, Missouri.
