WICHITA - The Jets returned home for the first time since the beginning of the month, taking on the Emporia State Hornets in one of the most exciting games to take place at Wilkins this season.
The match would see six goals, including a brilliant performance from Emporia State's Mackenzie Dimarco who scored all four goals for the Hornets, including a first half hat trick.
Despite the setback, the Jets remained in the game with several chances going wide before halftime.
Jordan Webster also made several saves, with the best of lot coming off a spectacular save that she deflected off the top crossbar.
The Jets would get their first goal in the second half, with
Allison Hernandez scoring her second career goal. It was her second goal this week, with her first coming against Missouri Western last Sunday.
Morgan Houston would score off a corner just several minutes later, and it looked like a dramatic comeback was on for Newman.
The match would end 4-2, but the Jets looked like a major offensive threat for most of the second half.
The Jets will be back in their second of three straight home matches, hosting #9 Washburn on Sunday at 1 PM.
