INDIANAPOLIS, IN. - The GLVC released its preseason coaches poll for Women's Bowling on Wednesday, with Newman being picked to finish second. The Jets joined offically joined the NCAA and GLVC last season for bowling, and were impressive in their first season as a full time member, as they finished runners up in their first appearance at the GLVC Tournament.
Newman received one first place vote in the poll, only finishing below Maryville who received five first place votes.
The Jets are ranked 13th in the NTCA All-Divisions poll and 2nd in the Division II/Division III preseason coaches poll.
The Jets won their first competition of the season this past weekend, placing first in the Mid States Championship. They will continue their season this weekend, as they will head to Dyer, Indiana to compete in the Valpo Bowling Classic beginnning on Friday.
