BELLEVILLE, Ill.- The Jets traveled to Illinois to compete at the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Women's Bowling Championship Tournament.The three-day event features double-elimination action, with each match beginning with a Traditional single-game total, followed by a five-game Baker format total, and then a best-of-seven Baker format, if necessary. The Jets secured the No. 2 seed in the tournament and would draw Quincy (7 seed) in the first round of play.

Day one of the 2026 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Women's Bowling Championship Tournament has concluded with second-seeded Newman and fifth-seeded Oklahoma Christian going unbeaten Friday at Bel-Air Bowl in Belleville, Illinois.

No. 2 NEWMAN (943, 1122) def. No. 7 QUINCY (871, 934), 2-0
- Newman knocked down a total of 2,065 pins to snag the 2-0 sweep over Quincy (1,805).
- Jets' Danielle Walbaum led the team with a 212 game in Traditional play.
- Lillian Fields of Quincy recorded the highest total for the Hawks, knocking down 188 pins in Traditional.

- Newman was paced by Kassidy Miller in Traditional play, recording a 231 game.
- Newman continued its dominance in the Baker portion, winning by 84 pins with a 243 game highlighting the five-game set.

The second day of the 2026 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Women's Bowling Championship Tournament at Bel-Air Bowl wrapped up with No. 2 Newman clinching a spot in tomorrow's championship match. The Jets will face the winner of No. 1 Maryville and No. 5 Oklahoma Christian.

- Newman jumped out to an 83-pin lead after the first three Baker games and didn't look back, securing its third 2-0 match sweep in the tournament.

Maryville and Oklahoma Christian will face off tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. CT, followed by the championship title match between the winner and Newman at 12:30 p.m.
