KEARNEY, NE. - The Jets were defeated in their second straight road match, losing to Nebraska-Kearney on Sunday afternoon.
The Lopers were able to take the advantage in the match early, scoring just 15 minutes into the game, followed by a second just five minutes later.
The Jets tried to respond and had four shots in the first half, but to no avail.
The beginning of the second half didn't go to plan either, as the Lopers scored a third not too long after the second half began.
Several shots from
Allison Hernandez would be the closest the Jets would come to scoring during the match, but a fourth goal with just three minutes left in the half secured the three points for the Lopers.
Newman still holds at the eighth spot in the standings, with just six games left to play in the regular season.
The women will be back on the road next weekend, taking on Northwest Missouri State on Friday and Missouri Western on Sunday. The Jets will then have three straight home matches, before ending the season at Central Oklahoma on October 29th.
