WICHITA - The Jets continued the wrap up of their season, taking on Emporia State in the penultimate match of the season. 

The game was very close throughout most sets, as the Jets would not quit until they could go no more. 

The first set opened with both sides trading blows. Newman would come back from behind multiple times in the set to take a slight lead for several moments, but the Hornets would push on offense near the end to get them over the hump. 

Three straight kills from Natalie Meyer put the Jets back into a winning position, but the Lady Hornets would not go away. Olivia Parsley had several big kills to get Newman back in front. Both teams went back and forth, until the Jets were able to get the set win following three straight points to end set two. The Jets took the second set 25-23, following two service aces from Avery Dempsey. 

The next two sets would be controlled by the Hornets, as they took sets three and four 25-16. 

Meyer led the Jets in kills with 10, while Dempsey added 18 assists. 

The Jets will host Washburn in their final match of the season on Saturday, which also marks senior day for four members of the team. Senior Day celebrations will begin shortly before the game begins at 3 pm.
