WICHITA - Men's Basketball took on Washburn in the lone MIAA game on Wednesday night. The Ichabods looked to continue their win streak over Newman and push it to 8 games while the Jets had their eyes set on snapping the losing streak to Washburn and notch their first win vs WU since 2014.
The Ichabods would keep the streak in tact, winning the game 95-61.
The Jets shot just 30% from the field and were led by
Latik Murphy's 17 points.
Stevie Strong finished with 11 to continue his streak of double digit scoring to 22 games.
Newman got off to a slow start and couldn't keep up with Washburn who ran out to a 29-6 lead and didn't look back. The Ichabods were lights out all night and shot 58% from the field.
Newman ends the 3 game home stand 1-2 and hits the road for another matchup against Emporia State this Saturday at 3:30.
