WICHITA- Newman baseball moved to 14-18 and 8-10 in the MIAA with a 14-7 series opening victory over Northwest Missouri. The win moved the Jets to 4-5 all time vs the Bearcats.

With 50 MPH winds over McCarthy Field the Jets used it to their full advantage. 5 home runs were hit by 4 different Jets.

Eli Wohl all hit one over the fence today. Angelico hit 2 in the 7 run win.

Garrett VanDeventer earned his 5th win of the season. The reigning MIAA Pitcher of The Week pitched 6 inning and recorded 6 strike outs on the afternoon.
Ian Lecki earned his first save of the season after pitching 3 scoreless innings of relief. Lecki gave up no hits and struck out 3 batters.

The Bearcats stayed with the Jets all the way through the 6th, even leading 6-4 at one point after the 4th inning, but the Jet bats woke up and broke a 7-7 tie in the 6th with a 6 run outburst.

Jason Schneider was a home run away from the cycle in the game. He finished the game 3-4 with an RBI.
