HAYS, Kans. - Baseball dropped their final MIAA midweek matchup in a pitchers duel vs Fort Hays State 2-4. Both teams combined for just 9 hits.
 
The Tigers scored first in the 1st inning on a 2 run home run. Starting Pitcher Colby Wilson shut the Tigers down the next 5 innings, allowing just 3 hits in his outing.
 
Jake Angelico scored Jack Kiser on a sacrifice bunt in the top of the 6th. Fort Hays State then scored 2 runs in the 7th to take a 3 run lead.
 
Jenner Steele extended his single season home run record with his 13th of the season in the top of the 9th. The Jets had a chance to tie the game with the tying run at the plate but a fly out to right field gave the Tigers the win.
 
The Jets win the series 2-1 and head into a road MIAA series matchup vs No. 4 ranked Missouri Southern Lions. Newman is 2 and 4 all time bs the Lions. Game 1 is set for a Friday 6 PM start.
