ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association has officially announced their 2023 All-Central Region Teams on the eve of the NCAA Tournament. 

Jenner Steele earned 2nd Team All-Central Region as a 1st basemen. The MIAA Co-Player of the Year had one of the greatest seasons in Newman Baseball history. The senior earned the first ever MIAA Player of the Year for any sport at Newman and helped lead the Jets to their first ever MIAA tournament appearance in school history. Steele led the MIAA in hitting (.415), total bags (168), slugging percentage (.792), and OPS (1.273). He finished the season with 20 home runs, breaking the single season record set a year ago by Steele and teammate Carson Hawks. Steele finished his career with 30 home runs in two seasons as a Jet.

Steele was the first Newman baseball player to earn Player of the Year honors since Tyler Bugner eanred Heartland Conference Player of the Year in 2016.

Newman University is a proud member of NCAA Division II and the MIAA. Founded in 1933 and located in Wichita, Kansas founded by the Adorer's of the Blood of Christ.
