WICHITA – Newman University Athletics announced Nathaniel Duncan as the new Sports Information Director earlier this week on Monday.
Assistant AD for Marketing & Communications, Zach Brake said, "Nathaniel's familiarity with Newman and various experiences across different levels gives us an SID that best serves our programs."
Nathaniel comes in having interned in the athletic communications office at Newman during the winter and spring seasons while he was a graduate student at Wichita State. During his internship, he helped create content and served as the public address announcer for baseball and softball.
In 2022, Duncan graduated from The University of Kansas with a B.S. in journalism. He worked for KU's athletic department in the spring of 2022, serving as one of the play-by-play voices for Kansas Softball. That same year, Nathaniel had the opportunity to call the 2022 Men's Basketball Final Four and National Championship games in New Orleans for 90.7 KJHK FM.
Duncan then attended Wichita State University, where he obtained a Master of Education in sport management in the summer of 2023.
"I'm extremely excited to be working in this athletic department," said Duncan. "I learned so much in my internship here, and it made me realize how much of a passion I have for working in a collegiate athletic department. Newman really helped me discover what I want to do for a living".
Duncan will reside in the greater Wichita area.
